Privacy Policy

Last updated August 14, 2026. This explains what EstateZone NG collects across the website and mobile app, why, and how to get it deleted. We keep this in plain language on purpose — if anything here is unclear, support@estatezone.ng reaches a real person.

Information we collect

We only collect what a listings marketplace actually needs to function:

  • Account details. Name, email, phone number and a hashed password when you register — on the website or in the mobile app.
  • Agent applications. If you apply to list properties: agency name, licence number, years of experience, a bio, and the identity/licence documents you upload for verification. These are stored privately and only reviewed by our approval team — they are never shown publicly.
  • Enquiries and contact-form messages. The name, email, phone and message you submit when contacting an agent about a listing, or messaging us directly.
  • Saved properties. If you're signed in, the listings you favourite are tied to your account. Browsing as a guest, your shortlist lives in a temporary session on our server and isn't linked to any identity.
  • Usage data. Basic things like which listing pages get viewed (to show accurate view counts) and standard web server logs (IP address, browser, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention.

How we use it

  • To run your account — logging you in, showing your favourites, and notifying you about replies to your enquiries.
  • To connect you with an agent when you send an enquiry — your message and contact details are shared with that listing's agent so they can respond. We don't sell or share your data with anyone beyond that.
  • To verify agent applications before any listing goes live — the documents you upload are used solely for that review.
  • To keep the platform working and secure — detecting abuse, debugging problems, and enforcing our terms.

We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell personal data to third parties. There is no payment processing on the platform itself — any fees are agreed directly between you and the agent or landlord.

Cookies & local storage

The website uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in and to remember your shortlist while browsing as a guest — nothing else. It's functional, not tracking, and there's no cookie consent banner because there's nothing optional to consent to.

The mobile app stores your login session and a cached copy of the homepage banners on your device (not in a cookie — this is how the app works offline-first). Logging out or uninstalling the app clears it.

Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. Enquiries and contact-form messages are kept as a record of the conversation between you and an agent. Rejected agent applications and their documents are deleted once a decision is made, typically within 90 days.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time, and you can delete your saved properties or update your profile yourself from the app. For anything else — including closing your account entirely — email support@estatezone.ng from the address on the account and we'll action it within a few business days.

Children

EstateZone NG is a property marketplace and isn't directed at, or knowingly used by, anyone under 18.
